All eyes were on Princess Mary this week as she stepped out in a stunning silver gown with husband Prince Frederik for a special New Year’s event in Denmark.
The Australian-born princess looked picture perfect strolling through Christiansborg Castle in Copenhagen at a reception for the diplomatic corps in Denmark on Thursday.
With a blue sash hanging from her shoulder representing her Order of the Elephant, the mother-of-four glowed in the beautiful long-sleeved dress which featured elegant lace detailing.
This wasn’t the first time the 46-year-old princess has donned the elegant silver gown. Back in 2017 the Danish royal wore the exact outfit to the same event.
The royal couple joined Queen Margrethe for the New Year’s Diplomatic Reception which is an annual event held in honour of the members of the diplomatic corps.
“This morning there was a cure for the Supreme Court’s judges, the Royal Guardian’s Guard and the Gardehusarregiment’s Officers’ Corps in Christian VII’s Palace, Amalienborg,” the Danish royal family wrote on Instagram.

“Tomorrow there will be a New Year’s ceremony for officers from the armed forces and the Emergency Management Agency, the three rank classes and invited representatives of major national.”
It has been a busy start to the year for the Danish royals who were spotted out and about at the annual New Year’s Banquet at the palace in Copenhagen this week.
Hosted by Queen Margrethe, the New Year’s Banquet is a centuries-old tradition held for members of the Danish parliament, top officials and court management.
Mary wore a stunning floor-length patterned gown, matched with a silver tiara and diamond earrings, while Prince Frederick wore a traditional military uniform.
The Aussie-born royal also wore the distinctive Order of the Elephant around her neck — the court jeweller says the Order is Denmark’s oldest and most distinguished royal order of chivalry, and can be dated back to 1460.
Meanwhile Queen Margrethe looked equally as stunning in a gorgeous pink gown, matched with a fur stole and glittering accessories.
The official Danish Royal Family website says of this event: “For centuries, the Royal Family and the Danes have wanted each other a happy new year and thus happiness and prosperity for the entire kingdom.
“The origins of today’s New Year’s sheds and New Year’s Eve are lost, but already in the mid-17th century, the events around the turn of the year are referred to as an old custom, and the basic elements are still the same.”
