Princess Charlene of Monaco has earned a name for herself as Europe’s most fashion-forward royal and she doesn’t look likely to give up her title anytime soon.
The South African-born princess wowed revellers at the Red Cross Ball Gala in Monaco on Friday as she stepped out in an eye-popping emerald green dress alongside her husband Prince Albert.
Charlene, 41, looked every bit the royal superstar as she posed ahead of the event in a gorgeous floaty frock, which featured a dramatic cape design and fitted her figure to perfection. She completed her glamorous look with towering nude heels, a sparkly pair of dangling earrings and a gold clutch.
Meanwhile, her blonde locks were styled into a loose chignon for the occasion.
Prince Albert looked equally as stylish in a cream suit jacket matched with a red velvet bow tie, white shirt and black pants.
Like her late mother-in-law Grace Kelly, Charlene joined the royal family as an outsider having no royal connections of her own prior to meeting Prince Albert. Charlene met Albert at a swimming competition in 2000 – the same year she represented South Africa in the pool at the Sydney Olympics.
However, she has since thrown herself into royal life with her days filled of official engagements and charity work. She’s a regular fixture on Europe’s royal scene and has earned a reputation as a down-to-earth princess who’s not afraid to roll up her sleeves and do the hard work.
She also regularly accompanies her husband to glamorous events in their home country throughout the year, with fashion magazines eagerly awaiting to see what stylish outfit she’s picked for the red carpet.
Earlier this year she drew attention when she stepped out with Albert at the annual Monte Carlo Television Festival, in a gorgeous white gown, which featured a subtle polka dot design and tied up at the front.
When she’s not busy with her royal duties, Charlene is looking after the couple’s three-year-old twins Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques.
