She’s been slowly transforming her public image over the last few months, showing off a series of dazzling looks at events as she celebrates life out of the political spotlight. And Julie Bishop’s latest outfit might be her most stunning yet.

The 63-year-old former foreign affairs minister pulled out all the stops for the 2019 Telethon’s Lexus Ball in Perth, wearing a floor-length emerald green ball gown by Velani, complete with huge skirt and a bow-style tie on the side. While the one-shoulder dress clinched in at the waist, it ended with a slight train round her feet.

She coupled the dress with a thick silver bracelet and matching earrings, while the ex-pollie wore her hair spiked back in a freshly blow-dried do. Posing for photos with her partner David Panton, Julie looked a million dollars for the star-studded bash.

Describing the event as “magical”, Julie wrote on Instagram: “Catching up with friends, having a great time while raising record sums $$ for @telethon_kids and 50 other beneficiaries. The generosity of Western Australians is legendary!”

And she was joined there by PM Scott Morrison and his wife Jenny, who once again transformed in a very bright dress for the event. While Morrison himself chose a traditional black tux, Jenny stood out in a vibrant red number.

Wearing her hair in loose waves, she looked beautiful as she joined Julie and more inside. And sharing a photo with his wife on his own Instagram, Morrison wrote: “Excited to be at @telethon7 Perth with Jen! The Government is giving $2.5 million to help Aussie kids in need. Over five decades, Telethon has raised over $306 million. What a wonderful achievement.”

The Morrisons reportedly surprised the crowd at the event as they donated $2.5 million on behalf of the entire government. And it comes after Australia’s First Lady opted for an elegant white wrap dress that fell just below her knees as she attended the second inauguration of leader Joko Widodo and Vice-President Ma’ruf Amin in Indonesia just days ago.

Jenny coupled the flattering dress on this occasion with some bronze-coloured heels and wore her hair loose over her shoulders for the outing. She posed alongside her husband, who was also dressed to impress in a smart suit, as they met with President Widodo and his wife Iriana at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. Iriana pulled out all the stops too, looking sensational in a light pink traditional Indonesian outfit, with her hair tied back in an elegant bun.

Morrison was primarily in Indonesia to discuss an Australia-Indonesia free trade agreement. Speaking about his discussions with President Widodo, he told reporters in Jakarta: “The IA-CEPA, in particular, has some very big components that deal with skills transfer and education opportunities and we’re looking forward to those being realised by Australian universities up here in Indonesia.”

Speaking of Widodo specifically, Morrison added: “He has been an extraordinary friend of Australia and his repeat election at this most recent election, I think speak volumes about Indonesia where we have someone such as President Widodo who has come very much from outside the Indonesian establishment and to have been successful at two successive elections is an extraordinary achievement.”

And that came after Morrison and his wife were officially welcomed to the White House with a special reception hosted on the iconic front lawn in September. Despite usually keeping a low profile, only attending the most important of political events, mum-of-two Jenny looked incredible as she slipped into a dazzling navy gown for the special occasion in Washington DC.
