Catherine is gorgeous in summery frock as she receives new patronage from Queen

The Duchess of Cambridge sported a huge smile on her face as she joined young children at a photography workshop after being announced as the new patron of the Royal Photographic Society.

Catherine, who is known as an eager photographer, has taken over the role from her grandmother-in-law who had held onto the position for 67 years.

Prince William’s wife appeared full of joy at the Action for Children event, her beautiful summery frock the perfect fit for the day time outing in Kingston, England.

Standing tall in tan wedge heels, the duchess looked casual yet elegant as she met with children who were learning about cameras and how to take the perfect shot. The royal opted to keep her beautiful brunette locks in their usual slightly curled style, while she accessorised with a pair of gold dangly earrings.

As an amateur photographer herself, Kate happily interacted with the excited kids for the session which covered elements of photography including portraits, light and colour.

“The workshop, run by RPS honorary fellows Jillian Edelstein and Harry Borden, highlighted how photography provides a universal language for young people to express themselves and explore their thoughts and feelings,” the royal family wrote in a post on social media alongside a collection of gorgeous snaps of Catherine with the children.

The Royal Photographic Society is classed as one of the world’s oldest photographic societies. It was founded in 1853 with the objective of promoting the art and science of photography.

Meanwhile, the Action for Children charity, another of Kate’s patronages, works to support those in need with a focus on young people and their families.

“As part of her longstanding work on early years, the duchess is on a mission to support organisations like Action for Children, that aim to give every child the best possible start to life,” the royal family explained in the Instagram post.

“Action for Children, who are marking their 150th anniversary this year, are committed to helping vulnerable children, young people and their families, across the UK. The charity’s 7,000 staff and volunteers operated over 522 services in the UK, improving the lives of 301,000 children, teenagers, parents and carers last year.”

Royal fans have taken to social media to praise Catherine for her hard work, with many claiming she is an inspiration for younger generations.

“The pure goodness and grace of the duchess radiates in every photo she is in,” one person commented on Instagram. “She is truly someone to encourage our daughters to look up to.”

“She is so authentic, elegant and warm hearted. Love her,” another wrote.

While a third added: “I absolutely love how relaxed she is around children, such a natural nurturer. The UK is so lucky to have her. Keep up the wonderful work Catherine!”
