Princess Mary of Denmark has made a striking impression while on an official visit to Japan.

With husband Crown Prince Frederik, the pair were at Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan’s Three Great Gardens, on day two of their stay, but it was Mary who gathered all the attention.

Wearing a stunning long-length white cutout lace dress, by Temperley London, the Australian-born royal looked super elegant with her hair tied back, with a white flower adding a pretty detail.

The sweet couple also attended the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in the city of Kanazawa, stopping for this photo at the ‘Swimming Pool Illusion’, a work of Leandro Erlich being exhibited there.

Earlier in the trip Mary, 45, was spotted wearing a patterned coat, while being welcomed by Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako of Japan.

It was a modern touch to a simple white blouse and black pants.

The Danish royals are in Japan for four days, with many official engagements. On this visit Prince Frederik will meet Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for the first time.

The trip to Japan is part of a business and cultural boost between the two countries, marking 150 years of diplomatic ties. In June Prince Naruhito of Japan had visited the couple in Denmark.
