There’s nothing better than discovering a brand new loaf flavour that is not only full of tasty ingredients but also super easy to whip up in no time at all. With just a handful of easy and super flexible ingredients, absolutely anyone can conquer this dish!

Ingredients
- 225g self-raising flour
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 175g softened butter
- 100g light muscovado sugar
- 3 tbsp clear honey
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 medium, ripe bananas, about 250g, mashed
- 100g stoned dates, chopped
- 50g pack walnut pieces
Method
- Preheat oven to 160C. Line base and long sides of a 900g loaf tin with baking paper. Butter tin and paper. Pour flour, cinnamon, butter, sugar, 2 tablespoons of the honey, eggs, banana and dates into large mixing bowl. Beat mixture for a few minutes with hand-held mixer, until well blended.
- Spoon into prepared tin. Level top. Scatter walnut pieces over. Bake for 1 hour. Lightly press top – it will feel firm if cooked. If not, bake for a further 10 minutes.
- Cool for 15 minutes. Lift out of tin using paper. When cooled, drizzle remaining honey over. Cut into thick slices.
