Dessert lovers everywhere are raving about the latest light and easy treat to go viral, and this time you don’t need more than 10 minutes to whip it up! The ‘healthy’ custard used in this tart can be prepared with just five ingredients and the end product is said to contain only 261 calories per slice.
The recipe was shared by Rhian Allen, the founder of women’s only weight loss empire ‘The Healthy Mummy’. The Sydney businesswoman regularly shares her healthier take on dessert treats without skimping on flavour.
For instance, this indulgent pear custard tart is made guilt-free by replacing caster sugar with honey and white flour with wholemeal. Then, with just ten minutes preparation time and 20 minutes baking in the oven, the low-cal slice which has roughly the same calories as a glass of milk, can be enjoyed without a second thought!

The recipe is originally inspired by the iconic, mouthwatering Portuguese tarts that originated in Lisbon over 300 years ago. A slice of the original custard usually comes in at about 360 calories, making The Healthy Mummy version much lighter on the stomach.
The custard tart was posted to Facebook earlier this week with the caption parodying the song ‘Oops!… I Did It Again’ by Britney Spears: “Kerrie says, Oops I did it again! I made the pear custard tart! Who else is in love with this recipe??”
Commenters went crazy for the dish with one saying: “Yes just made this last week… everyone loves it”, while another wrote: “Love this tart!!! I made it last week for the first time and will definitely make it again”.
Meanwhile, others suggested tweaking the recipe to try a different flavour with one suggesting using apples instead of pears: “I made this on the weekend my husband really like it. Going to make it again. He wants to try it with green apple slices”.
