Healthy fish and quinoa fritters

This incredibly simple meal is so easy and healthy you’ll want to make it over and over again. Stocked full of the best ingredients like salmon and quinoa plus all of the delicious spices, this dish satisfies for both lunch and dinner. These lean fish cakes work perfectly as burger fillings or if you’re looking for a low-carb option, try enjoying them on their own with a side of steamed greens. Quinoa is super high in protein and contains all nine of the amino acids while salmon is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin B, so don’t miss out on treating your body with these tasty and healthy bites!


  • 300g white quinoa, cooked
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 375g tinned salmon
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chives, finely chopped
  • 4 tablespoons parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 60g breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil


  1. Add quinoa, eggs, salt and salmon to a large bowl. Stir to combine. Add onion, chives, parsley and garlic. Stir to combine. Stir in breadcrumbs until well combined.
  2. Heat oil in large frying pan over medium heat. Roll handfuls of mixture into circles and press down with ball of hand to make 16 2cm-thick patties. Cook for 4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Serve hot.
