Healthy grain-free muesli

Finding a quick and easy breakfast option that is both super filling and incredibly healthy can be close to impossible. However, once you try this homemade muesli, you will never look back again. Unlike most store-bought versions, this recipe is low in sugar and has no gluten at all. There’s no rolled oats or dried fruits but instead a strictly healthy seeds and nut combination that works perfectly together to make a delicious topping for your morning yoghurt or smoothie bowl. Make this in bulk, pop it in an airtight container and enjoy it every morning!


  • 250g shredded coconut chips
  • 60g flaxseeds
  • 100g sunflower seeds
  • 100g pumpkin seeds
  • 70g almonds chopped
  • 50g coconut oil melted
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger


  1. Place coconut flakes, flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and almonds in a large baking dish with high sides. Melt coconut oil. Add cinnamon and ginger to oil.
  2. Pour mixture over seed and nut mix. Mix together with large spoon or spatula to combine.
  3. Bake at 180C 20 minutes. Stir half way through to avoid burning. Allow to cool thoroughly. Serve or put in airtight container.
