These simple and classic rissoles are perfect for a quick and easy dinner – plus nothing beats an old Aussie favourite! Not only are these rissoles super quick to whip up, but they taste incredible – whether it be on their own, with a side of buttery mash, or in a bun as a homemade burger. For an extra veggie hit, feel free to add in any leftover veggies you’ve got lying around in the fridge – you can try anything from broccoli, peas and capsicum to corn, potatoes and more. To really take this recipe to the next level, serve with a dollop of fresh tzatziki. Enjoy!

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 carrot grated
  • 1 onion grated
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp dried mixed herbs

  1. Combine mince, carrot, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, tomato sauce, curry powder, honey and mixed herbs in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Using clean hands, divide mixture into eight 2cm-thick rissoles. Place on a large plate.
  3. Heat oil in frying pan over medium-high heat. Add rissoles.
  4. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes each side or until cooked through.
