If you’ve exhausted all of your usual go-to biccie recipes and are looking for something tasty and easy to cook up for your family and friends, why not give this super simple peanut butter cookies recipe a try?

Former MasterChef judge Matt Preston made headlines earlier today after he shared his quick-and-easy recipe for peanut butter cookies on his ‘Lockdown Kitchen’ Instagram account — and the best part is, it only requires three ingredients you most likely already have in your kitchen! To make these delicious cookies he says all you need is one cup of sugar, one cup of peanut butter (crunchy or smooth), and one egg.

To get started, simply mix the sugar and egg together in a bowl before adding the cup of peanut butter. Then once the ingredients are combined shape the mixture into balls. Matt recommends dipping your hands in warm water and oil before doing this.

Then place the peanut balls on a tray lined with baking paper and flatten each with a fork. Sprinkle a little salt over the top and you’re good to go! Matt says to pop them in the oven at 190 degrees Celcius until golden.

Many people praised the chef for his tasty recipe, with one commenting: “Kids’ task for tomorrow sorted. Will go perfectly with a glass of milk. Yum.” While another added: “Going to give these a go today.” And a third wrote: “Yum! I’m making these as soon as my oven is fixed.”

It comes just a few weeks after the celebrity chef’s simple wooden spoon test made headlines. The simple kitchen test involves sitting your wooden spoon in a cup of boiling hot water for up to 20 minutes and waiting to see what kinds of oils seep out of the wood.

“This one is going into the bin,” one user wrote in the Facebook group known as Mums Who Cook, Clean and Organise – Australia. “A tip I learned from Matt Preston years ago. Does anyone soak their wooden spoons in boiling water? Mine always go into the dishwasher every night but that doesn’t stop what gets absorbed. Revolting really.”

Those who’ve already given it a go were left feeling disgusted after noticing the thick layer of cooking oil that appeared on the top of the water within minutes.
