Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson hilariously recall what happened in delivery room

They’re the Hollywood mother and daughter duo adored by millions around the world and Kate Hudson and her mum Goldie Hawn hosted a very special episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this week.

One of the hot topics of conversations on the show was the fact that Goldie was very present when her daughter gave birth to her third child late last year. Kate and partner Danny Fujikawa welcomed their first daughter Rani Rose together in October. Kate was already a mother to 15-year-old Ryder Russell and 7-year-old Bingham Hawn from previous relationships.

Goldie had been in the birthing room when Bingham was born and explained it was a completely different experience when Rani Rose arrived.

“First of all, I had to ask for your permission because last time it happened I ate too many Doritos in front of you, brought you a Lotas, asked you to smell it which is the worst thing you can do to a pregnant person and then you asked me to please put down my pizza,” Goldie admitted on the show.

Kate said she attempted for a natural birth but thought she was “too social” for it and felt like she was missing out on everything else happening in the room, so asked for an epidural.

“I ended up getting a walking epidural and then during the actually pushing, the doctor was amazing but mum once again was right in there,” the Fool’s Gold star said. “I remember the doctor goes, ‘Goldie, you get a little closer you’re going to fall in there’.”

With a roar of laughter from the audience, her mother proceeded to demonstrate how the birth of her granddaughter took place.

“He was sort of like this, leaning down, doing the thing,” she said, describing the doctor’s position. “And I’m trying to get in on him to try and look over his shoulder and now I see the head and I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s the head’ and then it went back and then he said, ‘Goldie, if you get any closer you’re gonna fall in’.”

Kate said sharing the experience with her mother was amazing, while a series of adorable photos of Rani Rose appeared on screen. She also admitted that she hoped her baby didn’t inherit her grandmother’s penchant for sweating profusely.

“We’re like sweating people and so I hope Rani doesn’t get that part,” the Mother’s Day actress admitted. “Our pheromones are strong.” Goldie said it was because they were strong women.

Fans couldn’t get enough of the interview, praising the two actresses on YouTube.

Meanwhile, Kate had previously revealed the special reason she decided to name her daughter Rani Rose, explaining it was a tribute to her partner’s late father. Pronounced as “Ronnoe”, the star explained they wanted to honour “the most special man” who they missed dearly.
