One of his past jokes almost pushed comedian Denise Scott to walk off a TV set mid-way through filming a show, but now comedian Sam Pang has taken his feud with the Studio 10 panel one step further — claiming the show puts him to sleep.
The Aussie comic and TV star has mercilessly mocked the stars of the Channel 10 show for months, even making a stab at their ages previously, but now presenter Sarah Harris has snapped back and challenged him to come on the show to resolve the row once and for all.
In response, Pang took to his ‘Chrissie, Sam & Browny’ radio show on Thursday morning to poke fun at the daily chat program.
“I love watching Studio 10. I find it very, very enjoyable after a [radio] show. To put me to sleep,” he told his co-hosts. “Is there any better way than just sitting on a couch, and then waking up three hours later. How good is that?”
When asked by his co-hosts if he’d take up Harris’ offer of appearing alongside her one day, he completely shut it down and confirmed it will never happen.
Harris played the radio clip a few hours later on Studio 10, explaining the feud all really began when Pang appeared on Have You Been Paying Attention? with her co-star Denise Scott, 63, in August – along with Ed Kavalee, Tony Martin, Melanie Bracewell.
During the episode, quizmaster Tom Gleisner asked the contestants: “Good news for the giant Australian cuttlefish this week. What happened?”
Martin was the first to press his buzzer as he quipped: “It’s joining the cast of Studio 10.”
But the worst was yet to come as Pang was next to poke fun at Scott by adding on to Martin’s joke: “It’s got a bit too much life in it for that, I would have thought.”
Outraged, Scott stood up from her seat and made to walk off set before standing in front of Pang to confront him – luckily laughing throughout as she accepted the funny side of the situation. While they resolved their issues at the time, it seems it was just the start of the feud.
Back on Studio 10 on Thursday, Harris slammed the comedian as she said: “We have been the victims for far too long of bullying and ageism and petty jealousy I would say, from TV and radio ‘personality’ Sam Pang.”
She also joked that Pang looked just like Anh Do from popular TV show Anh’s Brush With Fame on the ABC. Backing her up, her co-star Joe Hildebrand joked: “Oh yeah, he’s a painter as well, he’s amazing.”
