A father was meeting his daughter’s new fiancé for the first time. The couple came over for dinner and he quickly realised his daughter’s fiancé was heavily religious.
“So tell me,” the father said to the young man across the dinner table. “What are your plans for the future?”
“Well,” said the fiancé, “I plan on studying holy works all of my life.”
“And how exactly do you plan on supporting my daughter if you are studying all day?” questioned the father.
“I am sure The Lord will provide,” answered the young man.
“And what about your kids? How do you plan on supporting them?”
“The Lord will provide,” answered the young man again.
The father nodded and headed into the kitchen to talk to his wife.
“How’s it going out there?” his wife immediately asked.
“Fantastic!” the father replied. “I just met the young fellow and he already thinks I’m the Lord!”
