Our reviewer Karen Jones loves a good crime thriller so when she describes a book as “hypnotically enthralling … At times I held my breath as I could almost not believe what I was reading”, lovers of the genre know they are in for a great read.
In her review of You were made for this by Michelle Sacks, Karen said this novel “lulls the reader into a somewhat false sense of secure serenity” but then “it deals with human behaviours which are repellent … “. Warning, it is not a book for the faint-hearted, as Karen admits, “but still I had to read on”.
Curiosity awakened, we asked publisher HQ Fiction for their permission to publish an extract.
If you saw us you’d probably hate us. We look like the cast of an insurance commercial: Shiny, happy us. The perfect little family living the perfect little life.
“Wasn’t that another perfect day” is what we always say at the end of days like these. A confirmation. A promise. A warding-off of any days that might be anything less. But most are perfect here in Sweden, many more than I can count.
