Do you read comments from Starts at 60 Club members and think “I’d really like to sit down and have a cuppa with that person”?
Do you know it’s possible through our network of Community Meet-ups?
We have a number of long-running meet-ups and just recently we’ve welcomed new and returning hosts. A huge welcome to returning host Tracey in Newcastle, NSW; new hosts Lee in Gunghalin, ACT; Beverley in Helensvale Qld, Robyn in Brighton Vic and Judith in North Ryde NSW, whose first events are in August. Please support both the new and existing venues, enjoy a cuppa and meet some new friends.
In September, new Starts at 60 Community Meet-ups are starting in Camden, Kiama and Leura in NSW; in Ascot and Caloundra in Queensland; in Broome, WA and two in New Zealand in Auckland and Christchurch. Other people are interested all around the country, including one who may host our first evening meet-up, which will be announced as they confirmed.
Despite these new venues and hosts more meet-ups in both Australia and New Zealand are welcome. It’s painless and we are here to assist!
It’s easy to find a community meet-up; just click here startsat60.club and scroll down to Find My Meet-up, click, then scroll down the list until you find one near year. Click on the applicable date, then on Going and your host now knows you will be joining them. Because you wanted flexibility, not all meet-ups are held on the first Tuesday of the month and some groups even meet twice a month. Make sure you check the day and time at your venue when booking.
On your way to Find My Meet-up, take a moment to look at the numerous groups you can join via the Starts at 60 Club. There are many ways to join like-minded people in a secure environment to discuss those things that are important to you.
When you are travelling, why not introduce yourself to fellow Starts at 60 Club members at a Community Meet-up in your destination. Recently Val, host on the Gold Coast, left her group in Roz’s trusty hands and joined the meet-up hosted by Noel in Frankston, Victoria. Then Mirka, from Healesville, Victoria , joined host Wendy and the group in Kingsley, WA. From the happy snaps provided by both groups, a great time was had by all.
Bec Wilson (CEO and founder of Starts at 60) and yours truly were recently guests of Gympie (July) and Redcliffe (June), where we were also joined by SAS staffers Aimee McDonald and Rod Sampera. Thank you to hosts Carole Coo and Carol Reece for making us so welcome. It is awesome for us to meet you and your guests.and learn more about the people who host Community Meet-ups. In August we are looking to visiting Bulimba.
Many thanks to those generous people who took the time to email and let us know about hiccups in the system. Your assistance is greatly appreciated and helps us ensure we are user-friendly. A second email invitation will be emailed next week which I hope you will accept electronically.
Have a wonderful time at the Starts at 60 Club August Community Meet-up and don’t forget to send some photos!
