The brilliant hack for sparkling clean glass bottles and vases

There is an easy and stress-free way of cleaning the insides of your glass bottles!

If you’re the kind of person who loves to put fresh juices and other tasty drinks into fancy glass bottles when you’re having a family meal or hosting a dinner party, you’ll know how hard it can be to get the inside of the bottle clean afterwards.

No matter how hard you try, there’s always a persistent bit of pulp or a sticky substance that just won’t budge.

In some cases, you may find that running it through the dishwasher leaves the outside looking clean, but the inside remains nearly as dirty as it was before you started. You may even be scratching your head wondering how cafes and restaurants get their glassware so clean.

Thankfully, there’s a simple life hack that doesn’t involve throwing away your favourite bottle or spending a load of money on expensive cleaning materials.

In fact, you may even have the items you need in your cupboard and in your fridge right now.

For the best results, fill the bottle halfway with soda water.

Next, add a handful of dry rice to the bottle. Be sure to tightly screw the lid back on and begin shaking it for a minute or two.

Empty the contents out, refill with water, shake again, and then empty.

What you’ll find is the rice is able to get to those hard-to-reach parts of the bottle that your sponge or cloth can’t reach.

When you shake the bottle, it scrapes against the sides of the bottle and loosens the tough residue.

The best part is that the same trick can be used if you’ve got a narrow-necked vase.

Anyone who has ever kept flowers knows that vases can get particularly murky when you add water and the sugar sachet that comes with them – this hack also works for getting those stubborn bits of leaf and grime off the inside of the glass.
