A police officer called up the station from his car radio.

“I have a situation here,” he said. “A woman shot her husband for stepping on the floor she’d just mopped.”

“Have you already arrested her?” the responder asked.

“Of course not. I need back-up; the floor’s still wet,” said the police officer.
