In recent years, apple cider vinegar has become extremely popular and is often associated with weight loss and healthy living. There is, however, a lot more you can do with apple cider vinegar than just lose weight.

Apple cider vinegar can be used as a dressing for salads, as a natural cleaning aid and can even be used in the shower to treat your dandruff.

All-purpose cleaner

Apple cider vinegar contains both vinegar and alcohol making it an excellent cleaning agent. You can make an all-purpose cleaner that is perfect for kitchen benchtops and appliances, for dishes and even for removing dirt stains from your floor tiles.

To make an all-purpose cleaner simply mix half water and half apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle; then add some drops of essential oil for a fresh smell.

Dandruff and itchy scalp

Apple cider vinegar is great for soothing an itchy scalp and eradicating dandruff. Apple cider vinegar cleanses the scalp of bacteria and gets rid of any oily patches. To use apple cider vinegar for dandruff, fill a half spray bottle with apple cider vinegar and fill the other half with water. Shake to bottle until combined and then spray in your hair.

Teeth whitener

Apple cider vinegar is a great option for whitening your teeth. You can use it by rubbing some on your teeth to remove stains then rinse with water. You can also use it as a mouthwash to kill plaque. To use as a mouthwash, mix one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water and gargle.

Just remember not to use apple cider vinegar every day because using it too much can cause a breakdown in tooth enamel.

Skin conditions

Apple cider vinegar is great for removing warts and is effective for soothing sunburn. The alcohol works by balancing the PH of the burns. Just make sure you dilute the vinegar before applying.

Cat repellent and fly killer

Cats hate the smell and taste of apple cider vinegar so it is an effective solution for any of your cat woes. If your cat has a habit of biting cords or getting behind the couch, use a cotton ball to rub some apple cider vinegar over or around the problem areas. Apple cider vinegar can also be used to mask the scent of cat urine in the laundry area.

An old trick for getting rid of flies involves pouring a small amount into a glass with a small drop of dishwashing liquid. The flies will be attracted to the liquid and get stuck.
