Louis studied at the universities of Stellenbosch, UCT, Wits, Tulane (New Orleans, United States) and London. He is focused on travel and tourism, logistics and small, micro and medium enterprise (SMME) markets. He regularly contributes to a number of publications and has appeared on television and radio. Louis is married and he has four children. He is an avid reader, gardener, birder, nature lover and wine enthusiast. He writes poetry and short stories in his spare time.
