About Joan Redmond

Joan Redmond grew up in Dublin, lived in London in the 1970s and moved to Australia in 1980. With two daughters and twin boys, Joan rejoined the workforce in 1993 as a publications manager working in the independent education sector. In 2013, Joan retired, walked the Camino de Santiago and began dedicating her time to charity work, which led her to the Pure Joy project funded by Rotary Woy Woy. Today Joan is the project manager of Pure Joy Women Empowerment Uganda, and spends her time passing her skills onto disadvantaged women in Uganda.
