About Andrew Summerell

Andrew has always had a love of history and sport; however, for much of his life, working in a museum seemed unlikely. Prior to becoming a museum curator at the Bradman Museum, Andrew spent 15 years working successfully as a professional musician playing an extremely diverse range of music at a variety of venues. From there he ran a music tuition business that provided peripatetic education to thousands of students throughout Sydney. Approximately 10 years ago, he re-educated himself studying history and museum practice, initially becoming involved with the national Trust before moving to the Bradman Museum.
